The Museum of Art and Archaeology, renowned for its exceptional collections of sculptures from the monastic town and the medieval abbey of Cluny, also houses a wide range of other collections in its reserves, including paintings by François Buffet and incunabula from the ancient library.

The frescoes in the monks' chapel

Created by the abbot of Cluny, Hugues de Semur, and isolated from the intense life of the abbey of Cluny, the priory of Berzé-la-Ville received distinguished guests... Its decorations are a masterpiece of 12th-century mural painting and the only surviving examples of Cluniac monumental painting!
